Cessnock East Public School has won the Engineers Australia Mini-Pult of Doom competition, held as part of the Hunter Central Coast Innovation Festival.

Sixty three teams competed from fifteen different schools, at the Newcastle Basketball Stadium.

Each team had to build a miniture catapult that was both accurate in hitting a target and able to fire a rubber projectile the furtherst distance.  Catapults were constructed from dagwood dog sticks, rubber bands, adhesive tape and a plastic spoon.

The Cessnock East team, consisting of ten, Stage 2 students displayed brilliant engineering skills to come out on top on a fierce, but fun battle enjoyed by all who competed on the day.
